- Services for Juveniles in Detention Centers with Amy Cheney -

Amy Cheney provides library services for incarcerated youth at Alameda County's Juvenile Justice Center in San Leandro. Winner of the prestigious "Carnegie Corporation of New York/New York Times I Love My Librarian Award," Amy will host a tour of the facilities while discussing such things as outreach, collection development, interface with admin and management, and serving a multicultural audience.

She will also have books to give away, so come prepared with a bag!

Everyone is welcome to attend, including new members. Please contact Dana Aleshire prior to the meeting (deadline June 28, 2009) so that we may collect personal information needed for security reasons at this special facility.
